The British government is prepared to move forward with employing the full worth of seized Russian holdings to aid the Ukrainian military campaign, Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has stated.

In a shared declaration, the heads of state of the Britain, the French Republic, and the Federal Republic of Germany emphasized that this coordinated action would heighten pressure on Russian President Vladimir Putin and urge Russia to engage in negotiations.

They further noted that the decision would be implemented in close cooperation with the United States.

British penalties have frozen more than £25bn of Russian funds since Moscow initiated its widespread offensive against the Ukrainian nation in 2022. Yet, previously, funds sent to Ukraine using Russia's assets had exclusively been drawn from gains and dividends generated on them.

Sir Keir told Ukraine's leader Volodymyr Zelensky that the United Kingdom, France, and Germany were united in their goal to drive progress toward utilizing the total worth of the frozen Moscow's national funds to halt hostilities.

He added that further restrictions in the coming days and weeks would heighten the tension on Moscow.

This declaration follows European Union leaders convened in the Danish capital previously to debate employing immobilized Russia's assets for a €140bn loan to Ukraine.

Last month, President Donald Trump called on Group of Seven partners to take or otherwise use seized Russia's funds, as reported by reports.

The value of frozen Russia's holdings in the Europe is estimated to be nearly €211bn.

The Russian government launched large-scale missile and drone strikes all over the Ukrainian territory on that day, causing blackouts in many areas of Kyiv, Kyiv, and several other zones.

Two people were lost their lives and no fewer than 20 people were injured in the attack, the Ukrainian government stated.

In a message on an online platform after the incident, Zelensky commented that the cynical and calculated attack aimed at civilian and energy infrastructure.

"What's needed is not empty words but concrete steps - from the America, Europe, and the Group of Seven - in delivering defense mechanisms and applying restrictions," he wrote.

"Each restrictive measure undermines the Russian war effort," Zelensky declared, in a different message.

Additionally that day, Zelensky informed media outlets he would encourage Sir Keir to enter the weapons procurement scheme, under which partner nations buy weapons from the America to give to Ukraine.

While applauding the Britain's consistent assistance for Ukraine, he remarked it should demonstrate clearly that it would engage in the system, as well as apply further measures on the Russian Federation.
