A devastating blast at a security post in the Kashmir region under Indian control has resulted in the deaths of nine persons and injuries to thirty-two more, according to police declarations.
The occurrence occurred when a cache of seized explosive materials accidentally blew up during handling procedures.

The detonation occurred on the evening of Friday at the Nowgam security post, where detonation agents confiscated in the Faridabad area in the northern state of Haryana province were being kept briefly.
Local law enforcement head announced that the explosives were awaiting forensic examination when a "deeply regrettable" incident during processing resulted in their explosion at approximately 11:20 PM local.

Security forces verified that this was an "accidental detonation" and as opposed to a terror incident. "Any other speculation regarding the reason of this event is unneeded," highlighted the law enforcement head during a media conference.
The security post suffered severe damage from the detonation, with nearby constructions also being affected by the strong explosion.
Aftermath and Casualties
Numerous cars were "covered in blaze and reduced to charred husks, with fragments distributed across the area," according to authority statements.
"The force of the blast was such that some physical fragments were retrieved from close-by residences, approximately 100-200 meters distant the law enforcement facility," reported an official source.
The majority of the casualties were security officials, along with technical investigation team, two crime scene photographers, and a garment worker who was accompanying the group.
