Since the launch of the fourth campaign, recently appointed game master the talented storyteller has maintained audience suspense with deep backstory, a colorful mix of heroes, and a exciting storyline showcasing angels, evil spirits, and sinister influences increasing in power within the city.
Note: Revealing details for Episode 3 of the new season are included.
The Combat-Oriented Party Introduced
Episode 3 concluded with a major cliffhanger and presented the initial group of characters who will split off from the primary party to embark on their separate journey, apart from the remaining groups.
This warrior group features Teor (played by Travis Willingham), the agile character (Laura Bailey), the fierce warrior (the cast member), Wicander (Sam Riegel), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie Daymond).
Dividing the Cast
With a large ensemble, it was evident from the start that maintaining everyone at a single group would be unfeasible.
Hence, the initial installments of this story serve as an Introduction, intertwining the characters’ stories before branching into three distinct groups: Fighters, Schemers, and Questers.
Characteristics of the Warrior Group
As described by the DM, the combat-focused party is for adventurers who prefer a traditionally charged battle-oriented story mode where non-violent answers are rare.
Upon first impression, characters like the hesitant healer Wicander Halovar might look unsuited, but the developments of the latest installment show why these specific adventurers are ideally matched for the Soldiers table.
Reasons to Leave
First, the group understands precisely where to head next after a violent opening clash with the enemy group.
An old friend of Thjazi—whose death kicked off the narrative’s action—manipulated the enemy for his personal gain, breaking into the hidden lair, assaulting the rogue, and taking all the enchanted items to dispose of.
The antagonist then settled his debts and fled to a secure base in Gormalay, Timmony, beyond the city, with Teor’s brother pursuing him.
Individual Reasons
Moreover, each member has a specific drive to exit the urban setting:
- The rogue, as the close ally and best friend, wants revenge.
- The knowledgeable figure is familiar with the region and warns that it is a dangerous environment.
- The warrior and The healer, having defied his house’s orders to kill the target and instead freed him, have no other options.
- However, their position as prominent individuals in the powerful family could help the team reach places they usually can’t.
- Moreover, The grateful character vowed a life debt to The cleric for his deliverance and will now follow him everywhere.
Wanted and Hunted
Finally, all of them are hunted by the powers that govern the city for a variety of reasons, making remaining behind no longer safe:
- The agile adventurer and Kattigan are recognized lawbreakers.
- The warrior and Wicander betrayed the powerful family and the horde of evil beings they are aligned with.
- The target is targeted for elimination by the family.
This results in them few options but to travel to Timmony in pursuit of the traitor.
What’s Next?
According to the recent installment’s post-show segment, we find out that the warrior group will not appear in the upcoming installment, leaving the other eight players to assemble the Explorers and Schemers parties.
Fans can anticipate learning which adventurers will be assigned to which table in Campaign 4’s concluding setup installment, available to watch on the upcoming Thursday.
