Hulu is Developing a Popular Game TV Show from the Producers of Alien: Earth and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

The newest action-packed instalment that audiences experienced was Far Cry 6, which starred Giancarlo Esposito in the role of the antagonist, Antón, and was released during October 6, 2021. As a series, it is famous for celebrating violence and madness with the same enthusiasm, all while weaving captivating, politically driven stories. It’s no surprise that FX's decision for a Far Cry anthology series brought on board two visionaries whose work have embodied all of those things.

What to Expect

Based on Ubisoft's popular video game property, the limited anthology series is set to premiere on Hulu and be produced by FX Productions. The show will also follow the video games' structure by featuring a fresh backdrop and group of personalities in every instalment.

Executive Team

Rob Mac, mastermind of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the mind behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will act as lead producers on the series under their companies, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be joined by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

The network enjoyed excellent relationships with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a collective six series and 32 seasons of television, and we are overjoyed that they are joining forces for Far Cry,” said Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a announcement. “I have no doubt that they will tell this story in a way that is innovative, gripping, and incredibly entertaining. We also want to acknowledge our collaborators at Ubisoft for trusting us with this beloved property.”

Upcoming Developments

Mac will also star in the show, but at the time of writing, we have no details on what part that might entail. Hawley's Alien: Earth was just greenlit for a second instalment, with FX and Disney finalizing a new long-term contract with the creator.

“Being able to collaborate alongside Noah Hawley is a fantasy come true,” remarked Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been incredibly supportive, entrusting us with one of the most renowned video-game universes ever created. And along the way, my FX partners always encourages me with their ongoing trust and backing.”

“What I love about the Far Cry game franchise is that it’s an standalone show. Every title is a interpretation of a idea, the same way every series of Fargo is a variation on a story,” explained Hawley. “To produce a large-scale action show that can evolve from season to season, while always delving into the nature of humanity through this intricate and chaotic lens, is a dream come true. I’m thrilled to partner with Rob and present our common unconventional, ambitious sensibility to the television.”

A schedule for when we can look forward to the new Far Cry show has remains undisclosed. The series will be available on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus internationally.
