US entertainer Pat Finn, who appeared in beloved programs like Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has succumbed at the age of 60.
The comedy and improvisation performer succumbed at his home in Los Angeles this Monday following cancer treatment beginning in 2022, according to news outlets.
"Pat saw everyone as a friend - only friends he didn't know yet," his family stated in a message.
They added that he had "embraced life completely - with zest and passion".
A Prolific TV Career
Finn's first television role was on a show starring George Wendt in 1995, where he played the lead character's sibling.
He subsequently landed a repeating character on "Murphy Brown" in the latter half of the 1990s.
He played the part of Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in the late 90s, portraying a social organizer known to delegate unpleasant chores to his guests.
In the 90s and 2000s, he had guest spots on numerous well-known programs, such as:
- "King of Queens"
- Friends
- "That '70s Show"
- House
He was most recognized for playing Bill Norwood in The Middle, appearing throughout eight seasons between 2011 and 2018.
His film credits encompass It's Complicated (2009) and "Santa Paws 2".
Off-Screen Life
Beyond his television work, Finn was a skilled improviser and also taught at the University of Colorado, where he was a professor.
He was involved with a six-person improv troupe named Beer Shark Mice.
"Pat coached, befriended and mentored countless students over the years and it's nearly impossible to find anyone who has a bad thing to say about him," his loved ones expressed.
In a tribute, peer actor Richard Kind remarked there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Always positive, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A great dad, a great guy," Kind wrote online.
The actor is remembered by his wife Donna, his children, and his parents and siblings.
